What our forms collect, what goes on a page, and how to ask for something to come down.

What the forms collect

  • Report a stray: a photo, where you saw the dog (and the location tag inside the photo, if it has one), what the dog looked like, and your phone number if you choose to leave it.
  • Report a lost dog: your dog's details and photo, where and when your dog was last seen, your first name, your phone number, and your email if you give it.
  • Adoption, foster and co-foster applications: your name, phone, email, and what you tell us about your home and your day.

The forms are handled by Netlify, which hosts this site, and read by the Golden Rule Pets team.

What appears on a page

  • A stray reporter's contact details never appear on any page. Your number is used only to call you back about that dog.
  • A lost-dog page shows only what the owner consented to: the dog's details and photo, where the dog was last seen, and the owner's first name and phone number, because the owner ticked the box asking us to put them on the page and the flyer so people can call.
  • Nothing is published automatically. A person at Golden Rule Pets reviews every lost-dog report before a page or flyer goes live.

Signing in to the team portal

The team portal uses Google sign-in. When you sign in, we read your email address and your name from your Google account, and nothing else. We use them to know who you are and which role you hold.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone except the people and services needed to help the dog you wrote to us about.
  • We don't run advertising on this site.

Asking for something to come down

Email hello@goldenrulepets.com and tell us which page or which report. If it is your dog's page, say so, and we will take it down or change it. A dog that comes home keeps its page unless you ask otherwise, so the address on any printed flyer still works.
